HAPPY FRIDAY!

I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend planned and that you stay safe! Isabella and I are joining some friends and heading to Fredericksburg for an 'I Love Lucy' style Grape Stomp. Our first! Let's see how this turns out! :)  When thinking about something cute to wear for it, I came up with this! It is just stomping grapes, right?! lol

For your Little Princesses!

The new Girl Collection from Stella & Dot came out yesterday and it is soooo adorable! Isabella has already picked out her faves, Paris with Love, Love Always, and Key to Your Heart.

They also have "Buy any two items marked with our stock up star and get the 3rd at 50% off"! Awesome! I think Bella needs to reevaluate her decisions so I can get a discount! :)

We're half way to Friday! Does anyone have any big plans for your long labor day weekend?

The Wedding Date!

I received an invitation to my friend, Natalie's wedding in 2 months. An invitation to a wedding....that means I need a date! (That also means I need a very cute dress!) If you don't already know, I am very newly single. So what does a girl that has been single for less then 2 months do for a date to a wedding in two months? I have no earthly idea?! lol I keep thinking of that movie 'The Wedding Date' with Debra Messing where she pays a guy to be her date to her sister's wedding and they fall in love. Big shocker! Maybe that could happen to me since I technically am not dating and have no clue how to go about finding this wedding date. BUT I would need some cash stashed somewhere to pay for this 'said' date and if I had cash stashed I'd much rather spend that money on other things, like a trip to Rome! :) The other issue - the dress. I have to find something cute but can I go Sexy-Cute if I have some new date? Will it be too sexy? or if I go with the teacher look, will it be too boring? Oh the pressure! LOL

Ms. Lisa Longoria & Mr. Smart, Funny, Hot, Sexy Date Graciously Accept!

Now to find the Smart, Funny, Hot, Sexy Date! Hope Mr. Sexy likes Beef!

Wish me luck on my hunt for the 'Wedding Date'! :)

....Ok I will probably take a friend because finding a date that doesn't want a relationship may be a bit difficult! BUT a girl can hope! :)

Happy Tuesday!

First Day of 3rd Grade!

Isabella started the 3rd grade and I thought surely I'd be a pro at this and not cry but I did. Just a little tear... :) I can't believe how big she is and how much she has grown up in 8 short years. It's these milestones that seem to bring the tear jerking realization that she's not my little baby anymore and she's growing up to be a beautiful, sweet, and smart young lady.

To get her week started we had a relaxing Sunday night. We made Grilled Goat Cheese Sandwiches with Tomatoe Bisque soup for dinner and I mistakenly let her watch Pride & Prejudice a few weeks ago while I was watching it and she fell in love... we had our dinner and watched it AGAIN last night! :)

This morning she was ready to get back so we walked to her classroom, dropped her things off, and had breakfast at school. She was already socializing before I left.

To everyone who went back to school today... HAVE A FANTASTIC YEAR!

And to my precious angel, Keep your chin up and make lots of memories! I LOVE YOU!!

Have a great week!

The DIVA

I'm certain I've mentioned my precious daughter, Isabella. I probably haven't mentioned that she is an 8 year old DIVA. She has decided in the last year that she wants to be a Fashion Designer and I am all for it! How amazing would that be?! BUT she's 8 and now has a mind and sense of style of her own....I'm not sure I'm ready for this. As a matter of fact, I KNOW I'm not ready for this. I was absolutely over the moon when I found out she was going to be a girl. I knew, without a doubt, that we would have the best mother/daughter experiences and I would get to play dress up with my own little doll. lol I LOVE getting together, hanging out and shopping with my mom so it would be the exact same.... ummm, my mom must have been more tolerable with me at this age because I don't ever remember arguing over what I wanted to wear and/or what she wanted me to wear.

This weekend, we walked into the Gap and Bella said, "Mommy, I think I'm too old for this..". I wanted to cry. She's 8! She's too old for Carter's, not Gap! We were able to find some items there, at Abercrombie Kids, and Zara. She is growing so fast! She is asking to borrow clothes?! That should just not be allowed until she's at least a teenager!

On the plus side, we are enjoying the time we are spending together shopping and laughing at our similar size. She calls me her 'Little Mommy' (that's a whole other story - I had to explain to Bella that Mommy's come in all different sizes. She didn't understand why I was so little, awesome!, lol)

Here are a few pics of her modeling outfits!

She Didn't Have Time...

Driving back from a party last night Bella says, "Mommy, we should get a dog", (she asks for a dog at least once a week) but I asked why she thought we should get one this time and she said, "because I don't want you to be lonely when I'm at my daddy's", yikes....either she's getting pretty clever at pulling at heartstrings for this dog or she sees me lonely without her so I explained that I am actually quite busy when she's at her dad's and wasn't lonely at all and showed her pictures of everything I've been doing and explained that if we had a pet it would probably starve with how busy we are....her response, "But can we still get a dog?" lol I need to call her dad to get her a dog!!

But this conversation reminded me of a song by Terri Clark, She Didn't Have Time...How can I be lonely when life is filled with so much to do, in a good way! :)

Have a great Sunday, Bella and I are off to brunch! :)

The Little Black Dress

I have a plethora of little black dresses but this is one of my favorites! It has pockets! :) lol ...But besides that wonderful attribute it has great structure and character and it's going to outlive many of my others because of its timeless appeal. It has an exposed gold zipper down the back and a ruffle detail in the front. It's short but not too tight and the arm length gives it a versatile appeal for day and night! And, of course, I can pair it with heels or flats and both work great!

A friend and I were walking through a shopping center and found a stairway with this great piece of art... yay, photo opportunity! and then we saw the elevator, lol.

We could not find the artist's name or title of the painting?

Fell in love with the pea green stairs! :)

Where does this go??? (with my Starbucks!) :)
LOL  - Don't ask!

Happy Friday!!! Have a FANTASTIC weekend!

Better late then never! :)

I have just been beyond busy but in a completely wonderful way! I don't even know where to start...literally! With all the things that have been going wrong (annulment, breakin, etc) there are so many more that are going so well I can't keep up. The boutique website should be up and running soon and I am currently looking into renovating and redecorating a few rooms in the house, ok maybe all, but who's counting! Bella is starting the 3rd grade in 2 weeks and she's excited to get back. I have vendor shows for the next couple of weeks and Amy and I have been busy with invitation orders from Etsy! Whew! I had to take a breathe just writing it all. Oh and did I mention I have been spending lots of time with family and friends in my spare time! What would I do without these amazing people!!!

An overview of the week before:

Wednesday - Shark Cookies for Shark Week! Ok so all I could find was a 100 pack cookie cutter set that had a fish in it so we used that... so the sharks looked a little passive, no big deal, all that mattered was they tasted great! :) Dain, Adison, and Bella wanted to make all the other cookies too!

Thursday - Dinner Date with the beautiful Lauren at Z Tejas! OMG! Their Dragonberry mojitos are amazing and for the life of me I can't remember what the appetizer was but we had 2 orders and it had salmon! I probably can't remember because of that 2nd mojito! lol  ooops :) PS the gorgeous orange scarf I'm wearing...Purchase that HERE.

Friday - Veronica, Louie, Mateo, and Lina came in from Austin and we hung out and chit chatted. Perfect Friday night!

Saturday - We all ventured out in the heat to the Pearl Brewery and had lunch at La Gloria. Amazing food! The heat, not so much. We did get a few pics with smiles but quickly headed back. The sun was too hot and the kids were ready to jump in the pool.

A Bachelorette Weekend

I have to say, I have not been to a 'Bachelorette Party' in a few years....what a blast! I was also very excited that I could still hang in there, although there were moments, like at 9pm, 10pm, 12am-just to name a few :p, that I wanted to throw in the towel but I trucked on until 2am, whoo hoo, and am glad I did (my feet weren't though :), lol.

My friend, Amy, planned a great bachelorette weekend for her sister, Natalie, who is marrying her fiancé, Jesse, in October. Did you get all that?! haha We joked how we had become such boring moms and we completely enjoy it because we were ready to quit so early! Although she has 3 kids under 4 so her idea of relaxing and boring and mine may be a bit different :). It's always fun to get together and let loose and get away from the everyday but there is such a huge comfort in being home with your family.  I know, I sound like a blast, don't be jealous! But back to the party...I arrived around 3pm on Saturday and met the rest of the ladies who had been there since Friday and we hung out until dinner. We headed down to Chupacabra on 6th St. (Delicious Mexican food) and because this was the first time I had met everyone besides Amy and Natalie they tested me on everyone's name,  Sharon, Julia, Christine, Valerie, Amy, Barbara, Allison, Amanda, Jessica, Rachel, Natalie, Lisa, Kay and I got them all right! Whoo hoo! We went back to the hotel room for the shower where we played a few games and as Natalie opened her gifts we named each lingerie outfit. (One of the girls is going to make a menu for Jesse to pick off of) We picked names like Saucy, Ooo la la, Little Bo Peep, etc. OMG, he's going to love it!!! We then headed down to the Dirty 6th (new lingo for me- it's called this because there is now a newer West 6th? I'm still learning) drank and danced until the lights came on and they threw us out! We all hobbled back to our rooms and passed out. It was a GREAT night, I met some great new friends, and I am so excited for Natalie and Jesse to begin their new life together.

Amy - you did a great job!

Here are a few pictures and I couldn't leave out the invitations for this soiree!

Here was the invitation:                                                             Here was the insert:

A Bump in the Road

The Fashion Friday post is a bit late because quite a bit has been going on....

I got home Thursday and someone had broken in and was still in the house. Thankfully the neighbors saw what was going on, came to warn me in my drive way, and said they had called the police. THANK YOU TO THOSE BRAVE TEENAGE GIRLS! I can't imagine how scared they were AND they came across the yard to tell me. The police did catch him. He was 18, drunk, and high and will be going away for awhile. Besides a broken window, a bit of disarray, and a few ruined pieces, there was nothing else done or taken. It could have been so much worse and I could have had Bella with me so thank you God for looking over us.

Well a bump in the road and life goes on... Yesterday I had a vendor show at Bella's summer camp and it went great! Afterwards, my girlfriend, Norma, and I got together and had a little Girls Night In and chatted away about all of our business ventures we have going on. I love how we have such different careers (Norma is a political fundraiser-don't tell but the only politics I know are the signs I see in front of the schools when it's voting season, :p) but we have become great friends from just being moms and positive strong women! We played with Pixlr-o-matic, an app on her phone, on a couple of these pics. Get this app! It was a lot of fun. I have not downloaded any of these cool photo apps yet so beware of the pics now that she's shown me a few... :)

Have a great weekend! Austin's calling my name! :)

Had to add this since I mentioned I couldn't be serious taking pics, lol

Chocolate Heaven :)

Don't you hate when you wake up and you think it's one day but it's another....yesterday I woke up and thought it was Thursday! :( So to make it a FUN Wednesday I decided that Bella and I should make some sweets! I wasn't sure what to make until I saw my girlfriend, Amy, post her Banana Pudding trifle on Her Blog! Oh my goodness, it looked delicious but when I got home I didn't have any of the items so we improvised.... I had a box of brownie mix, chocolate pudding, and yummy vanilla whipped cream! This did take awhile because the brownies and pudding had to cool but it was definitely worth it. Meet the Robinson's was on Disney so we had a movie and dessert night! Perfect Wednesday night!

Just a box of brownie mix & chocolate pudding
Bella loves to crack the eggs
I haven't made pudding in years, DELICIOUS!
